PropTrack’s analysis of keyword search terms on realestate.com.au reveals swimming pools are still the number one feature Australian homebuyers are after.
Garages, air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and study rooms also ranked high in popularity (see image).
Notably, there’s an increasing shift towards dual living arrangements, with ‘dual living’, ‘granny flat’, and ‘duplex’ seeing a big surge in searches, likely reflecting cost of living pressures.
Meanwhile, at the higher end of the market, terms like ‘water views’, ‘penthouse’, and ‘ocean view’ are increasingly popular.
PropTrack senior economist Eleanor Creagh said luxury property had been less affected by interest rate hikes.
“All of the top end of the market still performed well last year and buyers with large deposits were more active,” she said.
“Significant home equity gains over the past few years have likely encouraged upgrader activity.”
